If you are regretting your choice of updating Evernote, then I am happy to let you know we can still go back! Personally, I don’t use a lot of customization. I like some of the new features. I can get used to new updates. However, the slowness is driving me insane.
Before the update (Version 6.25.2): New note ready to go instantly.
After the update (Version 10): It takes 3 – 4 seconds after pressing Ctrl + N (new note) to load up a new window. Followed by another 3 – 4 seconds of spinning. Then 1 – 2 seconds to load up the icons.
I chose Evernote over other note-taking apps because of how quickly it loaded and how simple it was.

Now, onto the solution.
Go to the following link to download Evernote Legacy:

The newest version is version 10. Evernote Legacy is version 6.25.2, right before the big overhaul. Once you have downloaded the installation file, install it. And you are good to go!
You can run both apps simultaneously. Hopefully, someday they will improve the newer version. For now, I am pleased to see the lightning-speed New Note window again.
